Blood Bowl Team Name Generator

I love team naming. Best part of Blood Bowl. The Communist Dance Party – Brets (Communists and dances. Like Mao Mambo and Che Cha-Cha-Cha) Eddie's Lizzards – Lizards (All Sauruses are named Steve) Dance Dance Ratvolution – Skaven (Similar to the brets one) Snacks and the City – Humans (Food named after Cities). Please note that if you have a very large generator, or have saved it thousands of times, then it may take a while to load, and may freeze up your computer for a bit - depending on how powerful it is 🖳 load revision history. Player Names

Elf team names

In FUMBBL, you have to give all your players names. These can be fantasy-style names, names of your friends, funny names....it's up to you. Obscene/offensive names are not allowed, and neither are names such as 'Lineman 1' - it's not in the spirit of the league.

Random Name Generators and Name Lists:

If, however, you are one of the many coaches who struggles to think of player names, then there are a number of sites that can help, by listing existing names or generating random names. Here are a few:

Race Specific resources:

It's always a good idea to do some background reading if you want to create a really authentic Warhammer-world team. Often, Games Workshop's Warhammer world draws on real-world mythology and history. Of course, Games Workshop draws even more heavily upon the works of J.R.R. Tolkein, writer of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and associated books such as the Hobbit and the Silmarillion.

Amazons - Based upon the Amazons of Greek myth:

Lizardmen - GW based the Lizardmen fluff on Aztec, Inca and Mayan history/mythology:

Norse - Draws upon real Norse mythology (maybe that's why so many Scandinavians play BB?)

Elves - Based very much on the Elves of J.R.R. Tolkein. He even created two Elven languages, Quenya and Sindarin (you hear it spoken in the Lord of the Rings films!)

Bowl

When I started this whole Blood Bowl thing back in December, part of the joke was “playing a GW game without giving GW a cent”. Parts of this are easy – the rules PDF is given away, lots of other companies make fantasy football players, and pitches and tracking sheets are easy enough to make. The one tricky bit turned out to be the team roster – it seems like all you can find online is blurry JPG images of other people’s roster sheets.

I finally got a copy clear enough to read, then it was easy to re-create as a spreadsheet in LibreOffice.

Blood Bowl Team Maker

Here’s the PDF of that, if it’s useful for anyone else: BB Team Roster PDF. Permission, as always, granted to copy or print for personal use. Enjoy, and try not to roll Attacker Down on the Block dice too often!
